Powered by Android (Gingerbread) 2.3 and run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 1.5 GHz Processor, the HTC Flyer comes with 32GB of internal storage which is expandable with a microSD card, and 1GB of RAM. The tablet weighs in at less than 15 ounces, and measures in at 4.7 inches wide, 7.7 inches high, and a half an inch thick.

The HTC Flyer is somewhat unique from other tablets on the market today in its infusion of a stylus. HTC’s Scribe technology lets users take notes, sign contracts, draw pictures, or even write on a web pages, photos, and PDFs. Staying on the software side of things, the HTC Flyer supports Flash 10.1 and HTML 5.

Thanks to the many leaks being spread over the internet, the 7″ Flyer will have a 1024 x 600 resolution and 24 bits of color depth and a capacitive multi-touch touch screen display. This Tablet PC has a 5MP rear facing camera complete with an LED flash and is technologically capable of facial recognition. It also has a resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels with auto focus and a digital zoom. Skype comes preinstalled on the HTC Flyer. Its users will be happy to know that video chatting is doable on this Tablet PC because of its 1.3MP front camera.

This device comes complete with a GPS antenna with maps included, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n support, Bluetooth technology, ambient light sensor, G-Sensor, and a digital compass. The Flyer tablet comes with excellent battery life 8 to 14 hours in standby mode and HD video playback up to 4 hours.

Other features on the HTC Flyer are its HDMI port, micro USB 2.0, and HSPA connectivity allowing for speeds up to 14.4 Mbps for downloading and for uploading speed of 5.76 Mbps. The HTC Flyer is capable of supporting 6 networks including GSM 850, GSM 900, GSM 1800, GSM 1900, WCDMA 2100 and WCDMA 900. The devices network data support includes HSUPA, HSUPA 3.5G, WCDMA 3G, EDGE and GPRS.

The Flyer is scheduled to be up for sale sometime in March in the United States at a starting price of around $750.00. A specific release date has yet to be announced by the Flyer’s makers. Rumor has that the 10″ models will also come on the market in 2011.
